The Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) Scheme is a personnel management initiative implemented by the Government of India for its employees. Introduced to address career progression concerns, the scheme guarantees career advancement through financial upgradation at specified intervals. Unlike the previous Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme, MACP removes the requirement of assessing employees' performance for progression.
Under MACP, employees receive three financial upgradations at 10, 20, and 30 years of continuous service. The upgradation results in higher pay scales, offering a structured career advancement path. Importantly, the scheme is based on service length rather than individual performance assessments. However, the personnel must meet other conditions, such as remaining in the same pay level for the stipulated period.
MACP aims to boost employee morale, provide financial incentives, and eliminate stagnation concerns. It ensures a more standardized and transparent career progression for government employees, promoting efficiency and motivation within the public sector.
